Services

Comprehensive Services Offered by Warehouse Focus

Warehouse Focus offers an extensive range of warehouse design and advisory services, encompassing the design of new warehouses, reconfiguration of existing ones, warehouse safety, and 3D visualisations for building and internal layout solutions.

1. Building a New Warehouse

If you are considering a new warehouse – either building or moving into an existing site, engage us at the earliest possible stage. We will assess the feasibility of any strategy with the business objective in mind and provide the necessary expert advice for a successful solution plan.

STRATEGIC DESIGN AND INSIDE-OUT PLANNING FOR OPTIMAL WAREHOUSE OUTCOMES

To achieve optimal results, Warehouse Focus will start the design process from the inside out. This approach involves finalising the internal fit-out requirements before selecting or constructing a building to suit. Reversing this sequence raises the risk of potential compromises or discovering that the chosen building is either too small or too large for the intended operation.

COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT FOR NEW WAREHOUSE BUILDS

In facilitating the build of a new warehouse, Warehouse Focus will assist with the following:

  • Provide a concept building layout so that an estimated land bank requirement is known
  • Provide the client with specification drawings of concept designs for presentation to architects, developers and builders as a starting
point for development approval
  • Recommend infrastructure inclusions as part of a build to facilitate efficient operational process
  • Provide recommended column grid, slab specification for automation and component power requirement for facility base load calculations
  • Liaise with builders regarding building and land requirement specifications
  • Amend fit out designs to suit the developer’s finalised building plans
  • Issue specifications to storage and automation integrators for project price quotations
  • Assist clients with advice on technical information provided by storage and automation integration suppliers
  • Assist with the project management of the warehouse fit-out through to the execution phase
  • Any other activities that are identified

The Design Stages

Experience the stages of warehouse design starting from technical design and specification to visualisation.

2. Re-Configuring an Existing Warehouse

For projects that necessitate the re-configuration of an existing operation, additional constraints exist.
These constraints extend beyond just the physical as-built limitations. The design and planning
considerations must include measures for operational transition.

As part of the delivered design package, Warehouse Focus will develop realistic and feasible approaches for this transition that includes, but is not limited to:

  • Storage re-configuration transition
  • Systems transition
  • Staged construction and workflow transition
  • Minimising operational disruptions
  • Mark out of lay down areas and safety zones during the construction stages
  • Specification of any civil works requirements
  • Any workforce elements that may be affected during the transition that requires HR consideration
PROJECT SUPPORT AND GUIDANCE

Warehouse Focus will also be available to assist the client to develop detailed plans and technical advice during the course of the project as required.

There will be some instances where the practicalities of re-configuration will only partially meet client requirements and expectations. Where this is the case, the limitations and constraints will be advised to the client at the earliest possible opportunity for alternative decisions to be made. By doing this, the client is fully informed before an investment undertaking, thereby avoiding costly downstream errors.

3. Warehouse Safety

Warehouse Focus is able to provide specialist advice on safety issues within the warehouse environment.
This safety advice covers:

  • Safety manual development
  • Traffic management design for existing and new facilities
  • Root cause safety incident investigation
  • Safety reviews
  • Competency based safety training plans

ENHANCING WAREHOUSE SAFETY CULTURE

The delivery of this service is to reduce the risk of safety incidents and accidents through design and process. Technical advice to senior and operational managers is also provided about with how to roll-out a safety culture within the business.

WE DELIVER DESIGN-DRIVEN SAFETY SOLUTIONS AND POST-INCIDENT SUPPORT SERVICES

Where any accident that results in serious injury or death has occurred, the incident/accident investigation will be undertaken by the Work Safety Authority and other relevant government bodies. Nevertheless, once the formal accident investigation by the responsible government and statutory bodies has concluded, Warehouse Focus can be contacted for additional safety support services to ensure the risk of future incidents are practicably eliminated or minimised.

4. 3D Visualisation

In addition to 2D technical drawings for specification purposes, Warehouse Focus has the in-house capability to provide accurate 3D visualisations of the building and internal layout solutions. The pre-build visualisation is used to improve solution understanding and design appreciation. Visualisations have been found to be highly effective for operational explanations during presentations and business development support.

Visualisations produced will comprise of a combination of rendered stills, fly-though animations, stage build animations, and even geo-located sun studies to show over-shadow across adjacent properties where required for local council Development Approval applications.

BENEFITS OF 3D VISUALISATION

Many people find it difficult to picture a warehouse solution through technical drawings. This is where visualisation overcomes this problem. The way we look at it, a visualisation serves as an important tool in facilitating warehouse solution understanding, avoiding equipment placement clashes and provides the client with an appreciation of bulk and space.

VR VISUALISATIONS

We also provide a 360° VR representation of the external building and internal layout design as part of our service.
